alot going on

there’s lots of of music going on these days. it’s almost Easter weekend, and Michelle and I are singing “Were you there” for the Good Friday service. and for Easter Sunday, the church group is doing “I know that my Redeemer lives” along with some guest singers, which should be nice. we’re also going to try to play with the hymns and such, so I found the chords online for the songs and transposed for the keys we’re doing. I’m not good at transposing quickly, but I got this cool thing called the chord wheel, which is based on the circle of 5ths. anyway, we’re practicing for that tonight.

and next week I’m getting together with some guys from work to jam out to some stuff.  I’ve collected a handful of tunes from folks like Gillian Welch, Buddy Miller, Bob Dylan, Alison Krauss that should be fun to try. we’ll see what happens.

my little ipod recorder has been frustrating lately, as it skips for no apparent reason. hopefully I can get that resolved. the new microphone I got for it sounds good (except for an annoying whine) but the skips are driving me crazy. we shall see…

our Easter-weekend songs “Were you there” and “I know that…” went well. Michelle and I especially enjoyed singing and playing together and hope to do more.

got together with a couple guys from work last night and it was fun. looks like we’ll try to get together more soon.
